The front door, a taste of what's inside. They give you a quarter as you walk in to trigger the welcome song.
Many little cities side by side in long glass cases. There are push buttons in front of each one that trigger things like jumpropers, card dealers, knife-weilding chefs chasing chickens, people pushing carts. Right out of Peewee's Playhouse. (That's a compliment.) Dancing skeletons, opening caskets, and a thunder and lightening informed battle between God and Satan in one corner.
The circus was bogglingly detailed. I can't even remember a tenth of the details.
A British sailboat from 1936 that had sailed the world. An interesting tale mapped out in great detail inside. Sydney plugged this with a quarter. It was LOUD.

Description: An odd little museum in the Route 66 tradition, kitschy and American in the most optimistic and individual sense. The founder assembled it himself over a stretch 40 years (he passed in 2005 or so), collecting and building and carving and animating everything in the place. The animated displays with his hand-carved dolls are amazing, and the shamelessly diverse memorabilia scattered across every wall and rafter verges on the epic. One of his quotes was - forgive me if I paraphrase incorrectly - "I did this while you were watching television." Strangely inspiring, and worth a return trip. The website is a little out of date, but still pertinent: http://www.tinkertown.com/
