Jumping on a memory foam mattress. Not as fun as jumping on a mattress with springs. Got interested in shadows and angles and stucco today. Probably pretty trite, but I have fun anyway. As a parent, I have to think that she looks guilty of something. She's not, though.
More stucco in very-late afternoon light. The polarizer exaggerates the blue sky. The hummingbirds have started to show up, they're so cool. This one was having dogfights with another one. Blurry photo of some plants we grew from a starter our friend Krista gave us last year. (Was it last year?)
Trying out my new lens. It's got to go to the shop, it doesn't work well with newer cameras without a chip upgrade, but it's cool to be able to get close. Once it's upgraded, I'll be able to control the aperture, as it is, it only works wide-open, so stuff's hard to control when it's 500mm out... More dumb stucco and blue sky. Another house finch singing up in the top of one of our Russian Olive (also known as Stink-thorn Trees, or at least they should be).
The thrashers still come around. I viciously pared back the juniper they live in and they split for a while. This year, it's all about House Finches. The canyon towhees are still ubiquitous, they sort of own our place, but there are several families of these guys hanging out, too. The males have bright red heads.
We like to feed the scrub jays, so we brought peanuts out. She ate the peanuts. Some irises in the window. Kind of mashed up, but pretty; they're hearty flowers, and they smell great. Cliche sunset, part 1000.
