This little moth or butterfly patiently sat while I got super close and tried different angles and apertures. Turns out it was stone dead the whole time just sitting like that, poor little thing. A new crop of grasshoppers for the fall I guess.
More lichen; it's pretty interesting in person but I'm not sure how well it comes across in a photo. I keep revisiting this spider, same one I had a picture of a week or so ago but more of the spider is in focus. There are already signs of fall, it doesn't bode well for the rumors of the early winter that everyone seems to be murmuring about.
We're getting to know this little guy pretty well, we even caught him for a little while last week. He's pretty comfortable with us. Some of the plants that are starting to dry out have amazing little colors and details when you look close. This is grafitti on the way to Sydney's school. It's been up forever, I kind of love that they leave it. It's little kodama from the movie Princess Mononoke. Nature spirits.
