The south side of the Earthship. The skylights are for ventilation, and the yellow flowers help cleanse the greywater. The Southern exposure maximizes passive solar qualities in the winter. The back (North) side of it is underground. Well, buried at least. Beebalm flowers. The pueblo Indians would cook it down into a black paste that they used to color pottery. Little lizards would hang out on the stucco wall.
A zenlike rock arrangement outside the front door. I took 20 pictures of it for some reason. Just outside the Taos Gorge bridge with my shorty and a big, dumb hat. That's my almost new post-accident car in the background. The Taos Gorge. No fear of heights.
The field just outside our Earthship Some dramatic sunsets, very nice, but different than in Santa Fe. Lots of sunflowers this time of year.
Big rainbow the night before we left...

Description: School's about to start, and we can't get away for a whole week or anything, so we rented an "Earthship" up in Taos. They're very cool, halfway underground, all solar, totally off the grid. The area northwest of Taos is extremely quiet, and we were lucky enough to see just about every kind of weather.
