Almost cuteI’m originally from Portland, Oregon, but I lived in Europe for a little while in the 90s and then in New York for about 11 years. For many years I thought of myself as a jazz pianist, but I’ve made my living doing what I fondly refer to as “dumb internet work” for at least a decade. I live in Santa Fe, New Mexico with a preschooler, several mongrel dogs and a Danish woman.

I don’t enjoy the work I do too much, and I’m working on getting into (and back into, as the case may be) other interests. But I like the people I work with, so there’s not any real pressure. Anyway, I’m getting back into writing, I’m into photography, I read as much as my life will permit and that’s often a whole lot. I love cooking food and eating it (along with various tasty, food-enhancing beverages), mongrel dogs, politics, Zen Buddhism (and religion and spirituality in general), and pretty rudimentary yoga. I used to play, write, practice, record, and perform music when time permitted, but I’ve kind of burnt out on all that and actively avoid it these days, I’m officially “quit.” I’m still a vintage keyboard fan, and I have 2 Fender Rhodes pianos among my toys. When I get around to working on music, I use Apple Logic Studio as my platform most of the time.

I have a rusty old Alfa Romeo that I used to think would run again one day, and I love Kung Fu movies, even bad ones. Especially bad ones. I’m constantly trying to learn new stuff, and one day, I’ll stumble across something that’s both interesting and that I can make a living off of. Until then, I’m pretty liberated from rhyme or reason, and I mostly love it.
